Passionate! Enthusiastic! Dedicated! Only describes Bishop Charles A. Mickens, Sr. Pastor of Lights of Zion Ministries of Chicago, IL. Bishop Mickens' passion for teaching led him to seek out a career in Education at Purdue University until he was drafted into the United States Army. The draft only delayed what was the inevitable, as it only motivated him to continue his education at Bishop College, in Dallas Texas.  
Bishop Mickens’ ministry uniquely promotes building strong families, reconciliation, and redemption; which definitely crosses denominational and social lines. His God-given anointing to preach & teach from the word of God has influenced others from all walks of life including his own family. He is the proud father to three anointed sons, who are ministers of the gospel, and a dedicated wife of 43 years who carries his persona of teaching and spreading the Good News.

 Lady Araina Mickens has dedicated her life to serving God and humanity. A high impact teacher, and motivational speaker, she has earned a distinguished reputation as a catalyst for change and voice of hope to her community.  Ms. Mickens is native of Gary Indiana, married 43 years to Bishop Charles Mickens, pastor of Lights of Zion Ministries of the Roseland Community Chicago IL. Lady Mickens is also a graduate of Governor’s State University and the mother of 3 wonderful sons, whom all are ministers of the gospel.   
Lady Mickens is the Executive Director of Lights of Zion Training Institute which is a program dedicated to changing the lives of the people in our communities by teaching various trades and addressing the the needs of those in recovery from substance abuse and mental illness.   Through this program many lives have changed, families have reunited, and many have been placed in jobs and received their lives back. Lady Mickens encourages and equips people everywhere to discover purpose, maximize potential, and leave a positive footprint through their lives.  
 Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.
